Krabman interviews… episode 11

Cześć!

Powoli topnieje lista najbardziej aktywnych działaczy grupy Osamuko. Dziś wrzucam 2 wywiady na raz! Do tablicy idą: Ng Puyo Ng oraz Aldwin Gordula.

Ng Puyo Ng

1.How did you start at Mahjong?
I played a Famicom Mahjong game, about 25 years ago.
2. What do you like the most about it?
The system and rules are well organized, it becomes a mind sport rather than a gambling tool.
3. How often do you play?
At least 1 session of live game per week I suppose, plus non-regular online tenhou games.
4. Online or live Mahjong – which one do you prefer and why?
Online. It is a good tool to practice the skills and it is a great source of data for analysis, although you probably need to play some live games to network with friends.
5. How do you practice?
I devote only 40% of time available to actually playing, 40% for play study and the rest on discussion board, blogs, etc.
6. Favorite Yakuman?
Hm…not really for myself.
7. Any tournament achievements?
Mahchao cup in 2009, played only 5 games, all tops, to get the title:

I am also keeping the T-shirt prize 🙂
Also the online international mahjong championship

8. Quick tip for Mahjong beginners?
Learn maths and statistics, they are really important.

Aldwin Gordula

  1. How did you start at Mahjong?
After watching Saki season 1, I didn’t think much of it – until an online buddy linked me Saikyou no Mahjong 3D. From there, I had to figure the game out. The rest is history.
  2. What do you like the most about it?
The game oddly models life itself on a significantly small scale. A mix of luck, coincidence, and human decision all play into success or failure.
  3. How often do you play?
Real tile sessions once a week. Roughly 15-20 games a week online.
  4. Online or live Mahjong – which one do you prefer and why?
Live. With a joking atmosphere, the games aren’t so serious and more fun.
  5. How do you practice?
Play play play. However, to memorize the scoring table, this takes practice, which required blank sheets of paper and writing out the point values over and over.
  6. Favorite Yakuman?
    Shousuushii.
  7. Any tournament achievements?
Been hosting the Anime Central tournament (http://www.acen.org/) over the past 3 years.
  8. Quick tip for Mahjong beginners?
    Learn; and keep learning.

Na razie operacja Osamuko zostaje zawieszona. Jak tylko zdobędziemy namiary na kolejnych agentów, podzielę się zebranymi informacjami.

    Yakumanów życzę!
    Krabman
