Evening!
Today’s post is mostly focused on Riichi judgement. Feedback appreciated!!! 🙂
1. RIICHI JUDGEMENT
I think it’s best to Riichi. We have some tiles to upgrade to Pinfu but it’s better to get this Han from Dora and win.
2. RIICHI JUDGEMENT
Another Dora wait. Different context. Since I didn’t want a shanpon wait, maybe
I could’ve kept 2p or 5s and let go of 2m. Now, I think it’s better to just Riichi.
3. RIICHI JUDGEMENT
This is quite a challenge to my subpar Mahjong mind!
We have a guaranteed Mangan, our wait is suji. I think it’s important to consider what other players will do after our Riichi. Shimocha could push if his hand is decent. I think Oya will be more inclined to defend since it’s S3. Not sure about Kamicha. Depends on his hand.
Would Riichi make 6p more likely to come out? Maybe, there aren’t many safe tiles to choose from. I think it’s better to Riichi.
4. RIICHI JUDGEMENT
In this situation I think it’s better to dama & prepare to fold, mostly because of bad wait + aggressive Toimen (Honitsu?) & Kamicha (Dabu Nan Dora 1-2). We really don’t want to deal into any of them.
BTW:
I’m not sure about my 35p discard earlier:
I was fixated on being able to call Pon-ten… or getting super lucky with Iipeikou xD Do you think it was reasonable?
5. SITUATIONAL TILE EFFICIENCY
I think it’s OK to tsumogiri 3m. It’s important to keep our melding options to get SSK. That makes 5m our fixed pair. 7p seems a bit safer to keep for later discards than 3m.
6. SITUATIONAL TILE EFFICIENCY
Normally, keeping 24 would be best but to go for speed I thought keeping Nan for Pon-ten was better.
Fun fact: I don’t remember exactly but I think I didn’t call the first Nan because I either didn’t have that pair then or didn’t notice the Doras in my hand xD
Bonus:
I know it’s only Bamboo Mahjong, but dayuuuuum!
BUSTED!
May Yakuman be with you!
